I Work Best in Bullets

This past week has been cray cray. Good thing I work best in bullets.

  • The New Student Programs Student Leadership Retreat was this past Sunday-Monday. It’s official–I work with the BEST students in the world.

But most of the time, they look like this:

Attractive, right? I know. They’re awesome.

  • Every first day of school since I can remember, my dad sings to me. No really, he does. Even in college he would call me early in the morning on my first day to sing to me. Please imagine a mustache-macho man who cleans guns and traps hogs singing to his 25 year-old daughter. (The pic below is one of my favorites–The day I got my Aggie Ring πŸ™‚ )

Anyways, the song goes something like this:

“School days school days,

It’s a golden rule day,

Reading and writing and arithmetic,

Ain’t it enough to make Meggy sick?”

Except, since college he’ll change it up:

“School days school days,

It’s a golden rule day,

Anatomy and physiology and microbiology, -OR- Whiny students and research and Hokie Camp,

Ain’t enough to make Meggy sick?”

But this semester (my LAST semester of grad school) HE FORGOT TO CALL ME. Don’t worry, I left him a voicemail expressing my disappointment. He quickly returned with the best rendition by far. I will never erase his voicemail. Ever. πŸ™‚

  • Can I tell you what’s scary? Walking into your classes for your final semester and, only then, learning they’re both doctoral level…whoops…
  • Over the break my optometrist told me that he has started taking Vitamin D and it has changed his life. He then explained how I should take it too–Especially since I live in Virginia and won’t see the sun much. So because I so easily cave to any type of peer pressure, I’ve been taking Vitamin D every day and I’m pretty sure it’s changing my life. I have more energy, I feel great, and I swear by it. Either that, or I’m on the verge of a meltdown. Please see the convo with my boss below:

  • I’m writing this post while at a Starbucks listening to a mix of Lil’ Wayne, Drake, and The Game. I’m so thuggy.
  • So, I work mostly with the Orientation Assistants…

….And Hokie Camp Executive team…

….And I have a blast doing it. They are incredible. 2012 Hokie Camp Counselor applications went out this week and I am PUMPED. And Orientation Leader training started up! Summer 2k12 is just going to be silly. I can’t even handle it.

  • I’m running a marathon in March and I think I figured out a way to raise money for Lauren’s Aggie Ring scholarship…Stay tuned…I’m gonna need lots of help πŸ™‚ Oh, and that’s also an open invitation for anyone to join me in DC when I run it.
  • Alright, I guess I need to go to work now. Happy weekend!!
  • Oops, one more bullet. Does anyone else wish it was summertime, yet? I need a beach.
