Here’s a part of my heart, y’all.
In 2008, my friend and roommate, Lauren Lewis, unexpectedly passed away. She was an incredible representation of Texas A&M and the epitome of a student leader. I would not be who I am and where I am if it was not for her. Let’s reminisce:
Here we are at her birthday party in my backyard…
Here we are with Shelley at our first Aggie Yell Practice..Oh this is making me miss Aggieland..
One of my favorite memories of Lauren is our trip to the Association of Former Students to try-on and order our Aggie Rings together. I called my dad shortly after to fill him in on the details and he couldn’t have been more proud of us. Unfortunately, she passed away one month shy of receiving her coveted Aggie Ring. In her memory, a ring scholarship was created to give Aggies who were financially unable the opportunity to receive their ring free of charge Isn’t that wonderful?
The scholarship is growing and I want to take this opportunity to raise awareness and more money for the endowment. How?? I’ll tell you:
Last year, I ran the Rock ‘n Roll Marathon to raise over $1,000 for her scholarship. I ran it in 4 hours and 25 minutes and I also BEAT OPRAH. This year, I am running the Shamrock Marathon on March 17th in Virginia Beach– I want to beat my previous time while giving YOU the opportunity to guess my finish time and win something special!
Here’s how Running for Lauren works:

Help me raise awareness and make a difference in more Aggies lives by giving them the opportunity to receive a ring they would not be able to afford otherwise. Any help would be greatly appreciated 🙂
