Hey Texas…I’m backkkkk

The past two months have been a whirlwind.

I had the incredible offer to work for Texas A&M University in December…and I took it without looking back. It was incredibly hard to say goodbye to my Virginia friends, but I knew this move was the best for my soul. Truly.

Don’t get me wrong. I loved Virginia. LOVED it. I had a blast in Blacksburg and loved meeting some fabulous people who I hope will be life-long friends. But sometimes you find yourself in an unhealthy environment and an opportunity comes along that you just can’t refuse.

So here I sit, writing this blog post in my new home in College Station, Texas. This is my sixth day in the great state of Texas and the smile has not left my face. I mean, how could it? I live just a few hours from my family, have unlimited access to Shiner and Blue Bell, and I’m living with one of my very best friends.

Yep, I live with Tiner. You remember her, right? I mean, no big deal but we live on about 5 acres with a pond and her horses. Meet Scoop and Dan Bob:

Here’s the view from our porch. Our pond is overrun by an exotic plant, but don’t you worry, we’ll get that fixed soon 🙂 We’re also on a mission to figure out if we have a beaver or not. We have a game cam in place. So far, all we have evidence of is the LARGEST POSSUM I’VE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE. Anyways, stay tuned for that adventure…

Needless to say, Kingsford is having a blast. She’s still scared of the horses, but she’ll come around soon enough.

I’ve mentioned that Tine is a 4th year in the Veterinary Medicine program at TAMU (only the best program in the country). She found out that she passed her National Boards on Thursday! Yes, ladies and gentlemen, she is officially (pretty much) a DVM. We celebrated by boot-scooting on Saturday at our old stomping grounds. On Sunday, her family came in town to celebrate over Tex Mex. Tine is in the green telling us a story 🙂

At Los Cucos

So this week marks my first full week at TAMU. I’m working on a few projects and will spend the majority of my time with a fantastic group of student leaders.

This is only the beginning of a brand new chapter of my story–And I couldn’t be more P-U-M-P-E-D PUMPED. Stay tuned, y’all–It’ll only get better from here. Saddle up.
