I realize I’ve been bad at regularly updating the blog, but I’ve been SO busy since moving back to Tejas. Late night meetings, horses, crazy weather, and coyotes. The list goes on. But it’s important to note that I’m happy and smiling every day. Every single day 🙂
As the advisor for the Aggie Orientation Leader Program, I get to hang out with some pretty amazing students. This past weekend we had an overnight retreat. My co-advisor, Ryan, and I both attended but don’t think we realized what we were getting ourselves in to.
I arrived to our location on Friday afternoon and was PUMPED to see all of the Orientation Leaders. Each Orientation Leader is given a specific color group: Purple, Blue, Aqua, Yellow, Green, and Red. Unfortunately, no one puts the advisors in a color group so we don’t identify with a specific color. However, one of the execs surprised me with a tutu–yes, a tutu–and, needless to say, I was ECSTATIC. The tutu had every color in it. Probably the best tutu I’ve ever owned.
Needless to say, Ryan was a little bit jealous…But then got all weird when I took a picture.
Anyways, the retreat started around 5:30pm and ended at 6am the following morning. Ryan and I drank 3 pots of coffee, ate dark chocolate, and ended the night/morning deliriously playing Battleship. I jumped around a lot, danced in my tutu, and practiced my karate chops to stay awake. But the retreat was a success! And I was exhausted. It took me about three days to recover. In fact, I’m still not recovered.
If the retreat was any indication of how the summer will be, I think I’m in for an exciting and crazy ride 🙂
And I’ll leave you with this: I totally wish tutus were acceptable, every day wear. Who’s with me?
